Week 1.

In the search to find other fishing spots I joined a Wellington Fishing group on facebook, and for a Charter experience most of them recommended Pete Lamb. With the trouble of booking and waiting to hear back I cant move forward but I can draw from past fishing trips of family boat trips to get ideas. I want to play on my strengths as I am not a great drawer I love using silhouettes to create a picture.

In response to this post on facebook I got a message from another Charter company 'Black Pearl' offering a free trip in exchange for some design work. Which would have worked out great. 29th - Still haven't heard back from 'Black Pearl' which is disappointing so I will not be looking into them again and have chosen to go with Pete Lamb Charters instead.

Week 1.

Using the set matrix I choose different activities that I found interesting and put them into the table. Fishing was the first one that jumped out at me and I feel there is lots to explore with in this topic. I have done some fishing over the summer and really enjoyed it, yet I still do not know a lot and have only being fishing of the waterfront.

As I am working full time this week I don't have much time on my hands so instead of creating lots of matrix for possible brochures I wanted to keep it simple. And getting straight on to gathering ideas for my fishing brochure as this is the one I have chosen.

Week 1.

Brainstorm.

As a small group we came up as many ideas as we could for possible brochures.

The things thats interested me were activity that you can get involved in and be outside or have to be physical with as well as eco friendly attractions and activities. Doing this showed me the large variety of brochures that can be created. I want to do something that is different from everyone else, the most common thing that people were talking about is food/sweets, coffee and walks.

Week 1 - Brief

The aim is to design a brochure that promotes a set of three thematically linked recreational destinations or activities in the Greater Wellington region. The solution must balance form with function by communicating the content in a way that is engaging and easy to comprehend.
